Pumpkinpalooza

Pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin. We have been enjoying pumpkinpalooza at our house. First we had pumpkin pancakes topped with pecans and caramel sauce from IHOP. So delicious!

My sister raved about the pumpkin pie shake from Jack in the Box. We tried it and it did not disappoint. This may be the best shake ever!

At the building where Aaron works, all last week they were giving away several pies a day. Aaron put his name in the pot and later got a call that he had won a pie. He went down to pick up his pie. It was a pumpkin pie from Rao's Bakery, and who wouldn't be pleased to win a pie from there? But his happiness was short lived. A pie controversy erupted at his place of work. Another worker, whose name also starts with "A" received a call that she had won a pie. She went down to pick it up later in the day and they told her someone else had already picked the pie up. She came back to work pie-less. Aaron said several people came up to him asking him was he sure he won a pie and did he really get a call. He was round about accused of stealing his co-workers pie. Aaron stood firm in the face of accusations and walked out of the office with his head held high and his pumpkin pie. We anticipated having a slice of pumpkin deliciousness. Later that evening we cut a piece and took a bite. Something was wrong with this pie. Too many spices or missing something, but it just did not taste right. The rest of the pie was not eaten and ended up in the trash. I'm not sure what the moral of this story is. A pie in the hand.........?

Have you seen this ice cream from Blue Bell? Spiced Pumpkin Pecan. Yum!!

The 5th entry in Pumpkinpalooza is Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies courtesy of $5 Dinners. These are so delicious warm. Sorry no picture, they were eaten up too quickly.

I love anything pumpkin! Happy Thanksgiving friends!

An Update & Football

Dear Blog,

I'm sorry I have only visited you 12 times in the last four months. This semester if flying by. I have so much to share with you, trips to the park, Luke dressing up, field trips, history projects, family night, and so more. But I am laboring on my college classes, trying to get everything done. Sadly, no time is left in the day to blog. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Classes end Dec. 6th and I will have a whole month of no school!

The boys have a new passion- football. They play it and watch it whenever they can. It's not much dear blog, but enjoy these pictures of the boys playing football in the front yard.

Juggling it all,
Lori
